On April 4th, when popular talk show host Conan O’Brien announced that he would be “live blogging” his program on Facebook for a night, the last thing fans expected was the annoying overflow of updates that flooded their newsfeeds that day. I caught word of the insanity immediately after it began because my friends, who used to be fans of O’Brien’s page, were fed up with his never ending posts and voiced their opinions through updates of their own, eventually displaying their anger with the ultimate sign of rejection, unliking his page. By the end of the night, thousands of fans followed suit and abandoned the comedian’s business page, further proving that it doesn’t matter who you are, if you violate the rules of social media, people will rebel.
