True, if you too much do only on self promotion people will start to ignore you. Readers love to see quality content and infographic from others too, and they would love to see what you recommend to them. :)

It was strange, they didn't try to own it and it still linked to my site - just unethical and bad practice really. It was the first time I've noticed it and it was just by chance I spotted it.

I agree totally Heather and self promotion is just as evident on pinterest as the other sites too

Great post and thanks for sharing it with the BizSugar community. Many rules that apply to Pinterest apply to other social media sites, too. As on those other sites, engagement and reaching out to others is the key, not self promotion.
