Yes, that is a challenge. What you could do is to rotate the banner space with different images over time. I would pick a personal brand, e.g., a photo, caricature, etc.

Sorry, just saw this comment. Yes, I think that's the way to go and I'd add a similar strategy is probably best on other channels like Google Plus and Facebook too. I think it's possible to quickly get lost maintaining too many things if you happen to be running several businesses at once.

I have used the banner (created by John Cox) for my upcoming site, Americanized.org, for underlining that I am an American in Spirit. The profile photo is from the unconference, WebCoast some years ago.

I think the new Twitter profiles certainly do open a lot of possibilities. The tricky part, perhaps, is if you have a variety of blogs or websites or brands you're involved with. How do you choose to brand your Twitter account? Or do you select a personal brand that can be used no matter what business you happen to be sharing about?
