Even though entrepreneurship is in vogue, not everyone is ready to start a business. Here are three questions to consider.

Cate: Thanks for your reply. How long have you been blogging?

Only about a year.

OK Cate! Have you received more requests and interests for new topics lately?

Written by CateCosta

Nope, people don't generally ask me to do posts on anything in particular. If they want help, they want to meet with me one on one.

Cate: Great to hear! What's your favorite blog topic?

No favorites. Anything that I think would be helpful to my followers, I will post.

Cate: Thanks for your reply. Maybe that could be a future blog topic to write about; services that combine online & off-line networking places / events / meetings for business minded individuals.

Maybe! I'm always looking for new topics for the blog :)

Cate: Have you participated in BizPora for a long time? I have done it yet, but I have registered a profile there. I have to check out CouchSurfing one day. Again, have a great European business tour!

I'm new to BizPora too, just joined in January. I did get some meetings in Mexico from it though.

Cate: Good to hear that! Do you have other sources to find startup & entrepreneurship events?

I generally do some Googling, look at Meetup, check out BizPora and Couchsurfing, etc. I also always set up interviews with entrepreneurs and investors and incubator people to interview for my blog, so they are usually my #1 source of info.

Cate: Have a great trip. Please stay in touch! :) Will you attend MeetUps?

Thanks!

I usually do attend startup and entrepreneurship events wherever I go and Meetup is one of the places I look to find them.

Cate: It is all good! :) Where in Europe? Have you been to northern Europe and Scandinavia?

Written by CateCosta

I haven't yet, but I want to. I'm headed to Spain to begin but not sure where I will head after that. I feel like 90 days isn't enough - I may have to pop out of the region and back in to have time to see everything.

Cate: I think you are right about this issue. Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts. Who is your favorite entrepreneur at the moment?

Written by CateCosta

I've never been good with favorites - I don't have a favorite color, song, movie, food - I'm meeting some cool entrepreneurs down here in Latin America though and am excited to see whom I meet in Europe this summer :)

Cate: Thanks for your reply. Yes, I asked if you could list start-ups that have answered these question. Have you read articles, interviews, books, by founders, answering these questions?

I'm sure I have over the years but I don't have any to recommend to you off the top of my head. Every entrepreneur must eventually answer these questions - answering them before you get in too deep will just help prevent a lot of wasted time and money.

Cate: Could you list start-up companies that have been able to answer these 3 questions (Concept: Is it a good idea?, Execution: How Well Can You Execute the Concept? and Profitability: Is Your Business Model Profitable?)?

Talking about business ideas, have you read Shawn Hessinger's post, Never Start With a Great Idea, on Small Business Trends?

I haven't read it but I will check it out. Thanks!

The first part of your comment...Are you asking me to list startups that have answered these questions? Only the founders would know if they answered those questions before jumping in.
