Now that big retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and eBay offer same day shipping on purchases, many small business owners may feel the end has come. But if you own a small shop and see that you are in the cross-hairs of all this corporate maneuvering, you don’t have to sound the death knell just yet

I look at it this way...

What's happening in the business world parallels, to a certain extent, what happens in the natural world.

In some of the harshest environments in nature, such as the African safari, there are many differnent kinds of animals that can survive. Each species has its own hunting or scavenging skills and techniques, and each has an established a niche in the highly competitive environment of the safari ecosystem.

The key to survival is staying true to those inherent skills and techniques and knowing the right time and place to express them.

Big businesses have a lion's share of resources, power, and “procured” knowledge. It's a fact, whether we small business owners like it or not. But that doesn't mean there aren't still plenty of openings for smaller companies to get in and not only survive, but thrive.

This article helps me to understand the whole small business vs. monopolizing enterprise a whole lot more - thank you for that! I definitely won't be going up against Walmart with a small brick and mortar shop!
