Great story Yoni and the lesson is as valuable today as it was back in the 70s. It is so often the little things you can do to make people and customers feel special that they will remember it for a long time.

Susan,

1970, 2011, 2030; Making people feel special never has and never will go out of style. I's why some people remain in our heads for the right reasons, and others for all of the wrong reasons!

Yoni,

I really like the lesson of the personal touch. So many salespeople that I run into don't give a crap about customers. I've been in stores lately where nobody even approaches customers. Andy is really an example of how to treat people right and I enjoyed hearing about him.

Rochelle Rochelle,

Andy was a great example of how to do it. A shame that there are still so many people who forget the "service" part of customer-service :(

What a great memory (and nickname!), Yoni. These are the experiences that shape us. Having a genuine interest in both existing and potential clients is such a great asset in business.

Ronika,

These certainly do shape us. They are the memories that stick in our consciousness. If Andy had been the president of a company, I have no doubt that he would have led it to the big-time. Great businesspeople are born great...there are certain things that can't be taught!

It was his nom-de-guerre!

I think we all have an "andy" in our lives somewhere. Those are the people that we will never forget, simply for how they make us feel.

Lovely reminiscence

Thanks Yoni

Jackie,

Amazing the impression that a good person can make on us and how long that impression can last!

Jackie I agree with you that some people have some Andy in them. If not then we may be dealing with the wrong people. Nice job Yoni

Adam,

Thanks. I was going to take a break. I was a bit down, but as a writer, writing is therapeutic for me. Didn't want to write. Wrote. Feel better :)
