He's not your usual rocker! He's highly-educated, hosts TV and radio shows. And...he's a fully licensed airline pilot.

When the band tours, it is he to whom the band turns to as pilot. Enjoy the video!

I must say I have never heard of him. Wonder if he sings the captain's announcements?

Susan, he doesn't but Google "Southwest Airlines Rapping Flight Attendant"; I think you'll enjoy!

This trend of sanity & business-related thinking in rock is a welcome and refreshing change from interviews I read in the early 90's. Metallica's rhythm guitarist once remarked that he didn't like to play lead because it interfered with his beer drinking onstage (he had a can holder attached to the headstock of his guitar). In fairness, the whole group did wear foam hearing protection - one of their mothers worked in a factory that supplied them to the band.

Duncan,

Thanks for writing back! That's a classic story about Metallica which I've never heard. I agree that sanity on rock is a good thing. Take a look at Ozzy and Joe Walsh, "punch-drunk" from drugs and booze, the sad travails of Jimi, Janice and Kurt Kobain or the rappers on trial for murder. It's nice to find one clean and sober and smart enough to pilot a jetliner!

All the best,

I'm a lifelong Maiden fan and I never had any idea Bruce was a pilot! Awesome job.

He actually flies 757s and the Airbus A-320. I've read he has logged thousands of flight hours and quite regularly captain's flights between London and Sydney. How's that for a rocker?
