More and more people these days are running live webcasts, for many reasons e.g. to raise awareness of products and services, or to provide much needed training to customers or employees.

In this blog post I will cover some things that you should do when planning and communicating your session. I will also share some of the things that you should do in the hours and minutes leading up to the start of the session.

#10 is especially important. Comcast is my service provider and some days they are awesome, other days, not so much. Luckily, I have a 4G Mi-Fi device. Whenever I am hosting a webinar or other or other virtual event, I fire it up and connect my iPad to it. I used FuzeMeeting.com for my last event and their iPad app allows you to control the event form the iPad if you want. This gives me two separate computers connected on different networks. If one goes out, I can always swap to my backup and keep things going.
