Heather: Thanks for your comment and information about Anita Campbell's post on this issue. I will read it. It is a bit fascinating how users could have an opinion on this kind of deal. Will they vote with their wallets?

Emory Rowland: Thanks for your input. Isn't GoDaddy one of the biggest domain name providers in the United States of America? Does they have more difficult renewal rules than other companies?

Why did GoDaddy buy Media Temple?

Hi Martin,

BizSugar's sister site, Small Business Trends, has a post on this too. Media Temple hosts for some very big companies like the Wall Street Journal, but smaller businesses use their services too. Essentially, the company appeals to a much more technical Web developer audience than GoDaddy has traditionally. And that seems to be the audience GoDaddy hopes to court with this move. I suggest you read Anita Campbell's article as well for additional insight.

I think Godaddy is trying to shed their previous image and rebrand as a more serious business solutions destination.

I'm not sure what they mean by "GoDaddy's cryptic domain renewal policies"
