Trellis: Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The interesting this is how Internet and new tech technology could change our old patterns of for example transportation.

Could the list of the companies belonging to the Dow Jones Index look very different in 10 years time?

Trellis: Thanks for your input on this matter. When do you think we will see a new generation of tech companies in the top. A paradigm shift of old service, e.g., taxi cabs, with a new twist of execution as in the case of Uber?

I think it will take approximately 10 more years, however with how fast things are moving it could be 5. If you think about Google, Facebook, the new giants etc... they took about 5-10 years to reach true dominance.

Interesting list. I am glad to see that Apple is the clear leader of the pack! ;) I don't think that state owned China Mobile should be included in the list. I wonder if the new era of app companies like Uber will enter the list in the near future.

I definitely understand your argument for why state owned China Mobile shouldn't be listed. It was difficult to determine exactly what should be listed as a "tech" company or not, because the definition is not perfect.
