Is Blogging Dying?
"For those businesses who are lazy and skip steps it is dying, or already dead. They've made up their minds and they tell others about the waste of time it is. However, as you said, they neglect the key aspect of blogging that is critical to their success and that is the long-term viability of the articles. Blogging is no where dead to those of us who use it the tool, adapt with it and leverage its benefits as you outlined. The key as I share on the "Begin Here" of my site is to understand how the internet works holistically and the role that blogging plays in it. It's not a mass marketing tool that you just pump "buy me" all over it and then expect people to buy from you. There must be a clarity that comes from digging into your business deeply that comes out so that you know your own passion and vision, the tangible values that a customer experiences after having done business with you, the problems each tangible value solves and who you solve them for. Learning how to communicate is hard but that foundation is what will carry the day."Is Blogging Dying?
"Thanks so much for sharing. As I said in the podcast, it's not dying as a platform anytime soon. But, for those businesses who don't understand the tool and don't take the time to learn it and only use it as a hard core marketing and sales tool; for them it will die when they continue to not get results. Thanks so much again for commenting. ~ Don"Is Blogging Dying?
"I agree that the platform is not dead, but as I stated int he podcast it is dying for those who refuse to learn how to use the tool the right way and when they don't get the results they are looking for they will stop blogging and claim that blogging doesn't work. Of course you and I know better. Thanks so much for sharing! ~ Don"Is Blogging Dying?
"Thank you so much for sharing Lyceum! I agree, the platform isn't going anywhere. However, for those businesses who refuse to use the tool in the right way they will proclaim blogging is dying because it doesn't work for them. Of course you and I know better. I'll be sure to check out your blog and podcast. Thanks for letting me know of it. Have a great week! ~ Don"10 Small Changes that Will Revolutionize Your Content Marketing
"Hi Joe, Love the overview! Organizations and businesses should take your recommendation and do it quarterly. I think one of the most underutilized strategies that you brought up is working on your "influencer list." I have connected some amazing and insanely popular bloggers that have propelled my opportunities in ways that cannot be possible through just hard work alone. I think a few things you could add to your list are: * Evaluation of your messaging. What problems are you really solving? * Who are you solving the problems for? * How does your products and services fit into the solution? * What influencers are passionate about solving those problems? Just a thought. I appreciate your article. I got a list of great ideas to consider. Sincerely, Don Purdum "10 Small Changes that Will Revolutionize Your Content Marketing

"Hi Mary, Great article!!! I have come to the conclusion after writing article after article over a year period in one of my businesses that constant content generation was not the key to getting my message out. Instead, promotion and marketing is the key. As you said, you have to be very careful about spamming. However, you can alleviate that if you know the problems you really solve for people and businesses, then define who you solve the problems for (target marketing), and then learn how to message the solutions properly to that audience as you learn where they are hanging out at. It's a HUGE amount of work, but the investment ins invaluable. As a result of my efforts in this area, I've connected with one or two extraordinary bloggers of influence who now love my content and we share each others articles and social media posts consistently. It's amazing how that works!!!!"Blogging Frequency: Why Publishing Less Makes Sense
"I think the most important one here (all are valid) is "You’ll have more time to spend on content promotion". If you are not promoting your articles and not connecting with people who can help promote those articles (which means you have to help promote theirs), you can write all day long to no one. I agree, write one or two a week and spend the time promoting and marketing them. Here is what I 've learned. Because of the promotion and over a hundred comments with a week per article, I learn what my readers are thinking and what their problems are as it relates to an article. When I learn that, I can blog more to their problems because I'm sure they are not the only ones. What happens is they begin sharing those articles more and more and it takes on a life of its own each week. Plus, I connect on article to another and reference it with a link and people reading a new article to them visit the others; and many times go into other parts of the site to buy because we educated and solved a problem in the blog and didn't try to sell them there at all."Subscribe
Godaddy is Wrong; Your Business Doesn’t Need a Website
"Hi Martin, Can you elaborate a little more so I understand your position. My point was that you have to know your business first and then you can understand the technology and how to use it. Are you saying that is wrong? I appreciate you comment and look forward to learning your thoughts. ~ Don"
