It could be a short foot (i.e., small size of the sub(marine)!;)) As a person who measure things in centimeters, I don't know exactly how long a foot is. ;) Did you know that the standard kilogram in France has gained weight? Read the article, Is Paris worth a mass? A kilogram, it seems, is no longer a kilogram, in The Economist.

WOW! I give props to that teenager who actually decided to measure their footlong. I can already see the whiplash from customers towards Subway. Social media users are a force to reckon with and something as controversial as this wouldn't take long to circulate around the web. Subway better watch out... Thanks for sharing this!!!

Agreed, Brandi. It's got nothing to do with the length of the sandwich. It's about what you trained the customer to expect. If you can't deliver on a promise you made, it sends a very bad message.

Exactly, the issue is more about customer perception than it is the extra inch of bread. Something like this causes customers to feel slighted. Thanks for the comment.
