We are sometimes overwhelmed with positive comments, compliments and stuffs. But we must always be welcome of negative comments and criticism and deal with them professionally. Because through those things we can help ourselves to improve.

It's true indeed that criticism are like sand papers that shapes us and helps us to shine. So, let it all the negative comment be a positive one. Through this post, there's always a room for improvement.

Emerald,

Your message is so true. When you see something going down the wrong path, where you see power corrupting and something good being ruined by people in power, comments can be good. In many cases, the comments do take the form of criticism. It is up to those who on the receiving end of the comments to decide, do we want to keep proceeding down the path to negativity or do we want to change course and build things the way they are supposed to be!

In a presentation I attended, Mitch Joel (author of Six Pixels of Separation) pointed out that negative reviews convert better than positive review. A negative review has credibility because customers are very incredulous about incentivized or paid reviews.

Thanks for the response Robert. I had the opportunity to hear Mitch Joel speak a while back and wrote a blog post about it as well. I mention your exact statement in that blog also. Check it out:

Thanks for the excellent comments (even if it was positive feedback :) But it is true, if you're open to it, there is a lot that can be learned and gained from negative feedback.

We always learn more from the mistakes we make. I think negative comments are the same. As long as they're done constructively, you have to consider it a gift.

Interesting post. Although we like positive comments, negative ones that offer suggestions and are constructive are good for business. We gained feedback on a product and because we were open about it customers felt at ease to give honest feedback. These lead to opportunities we would not have thought of.
