Sure you use social media to push out your message. Who doesn't? Tools like Facebook and Twitter can be fantastic channels for building your brand, but there's another kind of marketing social media can help you with and a recent survey shows more and more small businesses are figuring this out. I'm talking, of course, about customer service. So many businesses are worried about that complaint about your service or Website surfacing on your Twitter or Facebook pages, but instead or worrying, use this as an opportunity. Here's a post from Small Business Trends with some tips to help get you started.

As a company, you strive to supply what your customers demand, in an efficient, cheerful, and courteous manner. After all, a smiling customer = a loyal customer = a customer who will refer you to her friends and contacts. There used to be a time when a “referral” was something that happened between two friends over coffee. Today, with viral messaging enabled by social media, a referral can quickly reach thousands. If your customers “Tweet” or blog about how pleased they were with your service, that could lead to many more clients. Thanks for sharing.
