We have all heard this question before when we meet someone for the first time, “What is it that you do?” A lot of us probably hate getting this question if you haven’t taken the time to fully develop a clear marketing message for your business that you can share with others. It is surprising too, whenever I go to a networking event I always get this question and I ask it too, but what is surprising about it is how many people put very little thought in a marketing message. Whenever I ask this question more often than not I get a very simple generic response like I’m a small business owner, I’m a lawyer, I’m in sales, you get the point. This tells nothing about what you really do!
