This Sunday is the City2Surf which is a race over 14 kilometres and so far has attracted a record 80,000 entrants. Not a bad effort considering the start time is 8.30 in the morning and it is winter. One overall objective for the entrants is to finish, however there will be a host of ways they actually accomplish this. Here are three similarities that may help you get the results you want.

Very good! In sports there's an old saying "stick with what got ya there" - i.e. don't change your style just because now it's the playoffs. It applies to life, art, and business, too.

Hi Duncan,

That is a great saying and it while it is tempting it usually produce the results you desire.

Hi Yoni,

That fable is so true as some have had medical problems when they have pushed too hard. In this race there are so many different people including inspirational ones just like the person who did the Boston Marathon.

Susan,

Excellent post! Invigorating and motivational!

It reminds me of two things: the fable of the hare and the rabbit: "Slow and steady wins the race!

Second, there was an amputeee who enetered the Boston Marathon one year. he ran the race on crutches. It took him over 24 hours to finish, but thanks to the news and publicity, there were over a thousand people waiting for him at the finish line!

Another excellent post with many business lessons!

Thanks,

Yoni
