Thanks for your kindness! FYI: I used to go with the standard black/white blog and what I do now has been a long evolutionary process.
I just think that as I show USA Today has done, reading should and can be an overall experience for the senses.

Also the colours you use on the blog should be part of your brand identity otherwise it can confuse readers and customers.
