I’m sure a lot of internet gurus will immediately tell you “yes”. And advertising agencies are chomping at the bit to produce them for you. The article linked to above all but suggests you don’t need fancy production values. That the “human element” of the video is what makes it compelling and necessary.

Again, for B2B, I don’t buy into that.

Kevin, I Agree 100% - it's way over-sold. And, who has 28 minutes for one bit of info? You get 2-3 minutes, MAXIMUM. It's not like I'm watching a treasured Seinfeld rerun - paying attention (so I can say the lines before they do). No, I'm sitting in suspended animation till the 'talking head' finishes the script (assuming what's said is planned in advance - the 'stream of consciousness' videos are more like watching a bad catharsis). The "hey, I'm real" bit also falls flat - and low production values aren't helping (because I'm a boomer who grew up watching TV - I expect something better than a pasty-faced talking head in front of a fisheye lens in a kitchen) especially if you're asking for my money.
