Great analogy. It's amazing the level of success you can reach by simply taking the time to pinpoint who your ideal clients are exactly. It also removes the headaches of trying to lure in "clients" that don't fit your business model.

Good post and I think one reason is the comfort zone. It can feel easier to network with others in the same field but that will not bring the money in.

Hi Damian,

Great post, and probably the number one argument why, if you have a Facebook fan page for your auto repair business, it's a bad sign if the only fans you have are other auto mechanics. :) I think ultimately this is why marketing is such a challenging part of the equation.
