Politicians can't afford to make the mistakes the financial markets and credit rating agencies made by underpinning sub-prime loans and Greek borrowings. But world leaders how need deal with the problems facing not only their own country but the whole world economy.

Incisive, Catarina.

It's hard to lose confidence when so little was there to begin with.

I particularly like your analogy of drunk drivers policing the streets being akin to the credit rating agencies being allowed to rate U.S. credit (since they helped cause all of it).
