Can’t help wondering why two UN Human Rights watchdogs and the Archbishop of Canterbury seem to believe the world would have been a better place if “Geronimo” had been captured alive?
What would have been gained by capturing Osama bin Laden alive?

Add to all that the fact that if he was held alive, unceasing reprisals & hostage situations would have demanded his safe return "or else". There may be reprisals & hostages, but there's no Bin Laden to return.
Regardless of the fact that the balance of geo-politics is not changed one iota, the mere fact that the son-of-a-bitch is gone is wonderful enough all by itself.
