Organic vs. Paid Search Results: Is Google Pushing It?

Google will push some of its paid content, but, for the time being, it looks like it’s still the best alternative, for those concerned that they are not getting enough traffic from organic alone.

Google has been slowly tweaking search results to look more like organic results for years. Remember when they extended the title so that it had the first line of ad copy right after it? It made the ads look more like the regular listings. Remember when they changed the background color behind the main column ads to yellow? With my 22" Samsung monitor I have to move my head around to even tell which results are shaded.

This is a battle between Google and the FTC that will be ongoing.

With reputable sites slapped by Google algorithm updates, it's natural that paid traffic - such as AdWords' - is the way to go for many organizations. I personally think Google has this in mind... just my 2 cents.
