Not too long ago, I was having a conversation with another author who was lamenting the fact that a lot of authors are offering their books for 99 cents. But is offering your book for cheap hurting your brand in the long run?

Dianne Dixon: What is an unique price for an e-book? What is the difference of setting the price of 99 cents for an app and $0.99 for an e-book? I wrote the following in my post, Tea For The Win Book:

How to set the price of the book? $17.73 for the printed book? The price of a cup of tea at Starbucks for the e-book?

Online marketing about books are quite a tipping point. if it goes so cheap, maybe people will think the story sucks so they will not buy it at a long run.

Exactly. It's already happening. There are a lot of really not-so-great books flooding the ways at that 99 cents stand point and people are starting to equate "less than a dollar" with lower quality, as I mentioned. It's a good "treat" but not a permanent thing. Thanks for your comment
