I was as shocked to hear this as you are, right now. According to latest reports, StumbleUpon is about to close a deal with Yahoo, that completes the social discovery engine’s acquisition of Delicious for $1 – $2 million. The sources aren’t particularly sure if StumbleUpon is buying it, but say that the deal is taking place between Yahoo and a strategic partner. It’s also pretty clear now, that Yahoo is currently moving Delicious off its servers and infrastructure.StumbleUpon has just raised $17 million in funding, and shouldn’t mind buying a social bookmarking site that complements its own service and is among the top 300 most popular websites in the world. Its only bothering thereafter, should be monetizing the bookmarking site. The deal, interestingly codenamed "Project Dragon," is expected to close as soon as next week.
