Being successful in crowdfunding is not as easy as it seems. It comes with a lot of effort and dedication, but if one puts in the necessary work, they can realize fortunes that go far beyond just the raising of money...

Martin,

I think that a lot of people who are still working for someone else and want to start a small business, who have a product or maybe just an idea are looking for ways to be heard and seen. There's too much business about building a business for some people, and a lot of folks are looking for ways to cut to the chase. I think crowdfunding may be the answer for this type of business person...someone who is fed up with the established ways of going about financing their ideas. Of course crowdfunding is for more than just these types of people.

I will test out a crowdfunding campaign with a a twist during 2014. We will ask for a small amount, but give back part of the money together vouchers for our products and to other webshops, using the same provider.

I submitted these because I started reading about Tanya Prive and her crowdfunding business Rock the Post. It appears that she writes only for Forbes right now. I've been looking for a blog from her but no dice.

Anyway, just wanted to share this post with the community!

Heather: Thanks for sharing this piece on crowdfunding. Do you think that this way of funding will explode in 2014? I didn't know about Rock the Post service. Here in Sweden you have a service called FundedBy.me.
