One way to change the 80/20 trap is to take steps to change yourself. Many sales people neglect their obligation to ensure that they are continuing to develop and evolve their sales skills and knowledge.

Tibor Shanto's post piqued my interest with a post title that grabbed my attention due to my interest in the Pareto principle (80/20 rule) and Kaizen (continuous improvement)! ;)

I think that the story tells a great way of testing sales people and see if they are reading sales literature and interesting books.

I must say that I have been influenced by Tim Sanders's "lovecat" idea in his book, "Love Is The Killer App." In the "Knowledge" section, he is talking about the importance of reading books and you will find a "80/20 book" example.
