If there are two words that could stop a writer dead in their tracks then this would be “writer’s block.” Even the most proficient and savvy word smith has experienced this at one time or another. Frustrating is an understatement when we’re groping for words and trying to meet our publisher’s deadline. So the next time you’re hit with a roadblock that seems to stop you dead in your tracks, here are a few tips that could help you break out from your writer’s block.

Sahil/Michael,

I think anybody who is suffering from writer's block is simply not exposing him or herself to enough stimuli.

Anytime I see a baby cry, a dog rolling in the grass, the twinkle in my wife's eye, clouds, rain, someone helping an old lady across the street...

...a great tv show, a documentary, an old black and white Gable movie, Charles Bronson kicking a bad guy's ass...

...reread Catcher in the Rye for the 30th time, read a great new novel, a great insightful news article...

...listen to Neil Young, Louis Armstrong or Curtis Mayfield...

...hear about a corrupt CEO, a disabled person who is thriving at work, a person who has beaten cancer...

POOOOF!!!
