Way too much PC. I miss America around Cristmastime. The lights and decorations, the singing, etc. Although it isn't my religion, I somehow felt part of the joy and merriment. A shame to put the brakes on such a nice holiday.

I agree with Hamed that it seems to be mainly about respecting other people's views. I don't want to assume that most people I see have the same beliefs that I do. I know a lot of people who were raised Catholic or Protestant who no longer follow organized religion. There are a lot of people who celebrate Christmas as Xmas - it's about being with family, a great meal, and a gift exchange. Whether that sounds shallow or not, it's what many believe - so I respect everyone's right to believe as they wish. With strangers I might say Happy Holidays, with family I say Merry Christmas (even to those who believe in Xmas - they know where I'm coming from).
In the case of business it may actually be for the same reasons, rather than political correctness - with big business we usually assume the worst (even the few times it may be unjustified {har har}).

You're both right, it ultimately comes down to respecting the beliefs of others. The main problem I have is when clamping down on Christmas...or any other holiday for that fact becomes either governmental or corporate policy. Again, I'm reading of people who are being disciplined for wishing customers "Merry Christmas." Perplexing stuff.

As you write it is allabout tolerance and respect fot the other. And as you say, the majority is able to make some rules of their won. It is time for all radicalism to end and for mankind to get along.

You are indeed correct. What gets me is seeing almost every other group with the freedom to celebrate and Market, but when it comes to Christmas (which I don't even observe) all of a sudden it's not PC.
