Thanks for relating your story. Your point about how people act at a certain age in their lives is interesting. Maybe it isn't really about a generation per se but more about how developmental passages.

It seems to me that there are generalized differences between the generations at any given fixed time, but (as a boomer) are the gen X & Y'ers much different than we were at the same age (relatively speaking in terms of technology)? Not much, if memory serves.

I especially remember the hippie movement in the late '60's/early '70's. In their attempt to escape what they saw as a very sorry reality, they weren't exactly lookin' for 9-5 jobs in the "plastic" society of the "establishment". This in turn created the "generation gap".
