Personally, It feels like I’m multi-tasking my entire life. I know I am not the only one out there. (or I hope I’m not)  As women we do our best to do it all (cause we are awesome!), but sometimes…we

I don't necessarily see all multi-tasking as a bad thing. Many jobs require that you're able to "effectively" multi-task. However, I do believe that it's not really good for you and that it can lower your IQ significantly.

Research shows that it takes approx 5 min to get your rhythm on something you start. When you multi-task and constantly switch from one task to another you are losing 5 min on every switchover, not to mention that the lack of focus on one task doesn't do full justice to it.

it is even worse when you are not paying attention to someone you are talking to because your mind is already looking at the other task. This is an easy recipe to lose friends and customers.

I personally find most people who make a big deal of being multitaskers to be massively inadequate at any of the piecemeal task they are tackling. Our brains simply aren't built to sustain this kind of activity.

It's simply neuroscience. Our brains take time to rev between tasks and in most cases, you won't be doing as much if you multitask vs if you unitask sequentially. Even listening to music with understandable lyrics can seriously take up important cognitive power from your brain.

I've yet to see any multitasker or smartphone freak be significantly more productive than a unitasker that relies on a to-do list.

THen again, your mileage may vary.

Well that depend on how much can you do when you multitasking. If you are more productive while you multitasking then multitasking is great for you! :)
