A short missive on the impact of the words "good enough". My question to these words are "is it?" - what do you think?

If my memory serves me, MANY years ago Gibson (guitars) had a slogan "Good Enough". Their chief US rival (still its own company based in the US then) Epiphone countered with the slogan "When Good Enough Isn't Good Enough" (or something like that - this was pre-WWII, I believe, long before I was born).

It was catchy, but Epiphone lost out decades later, and Gibson is still with us. In fact Epiphone is now Gibson's own Asian-manufactured brand, copying their own models.

That's interesting. Wonder whether they lost out because of product quality or more effective sales/marketing to Gibson. The example does serve to counter my arguement for sure - thanks for commenting.
