Ideally, you need both. But as in the article, it's really a matter of understanding how passion is a fickle, and unreliable thing. Passion helps, and is necessary for taking things to a different level, but it's not sustainable. There is not a single lasting success story where discipline and self-control did not come into play. We just love hearing about passion a lot more, precisely because we are emotionally moved by it.
