It's important to evaluate opportunities, ideas and people when you're an entrepreneur or small business owner. Usually not everything is as it seems. Filters are incredibly important for picking what you want and what you don't want and not getting bogged down in between.

Zack,

I am interested to learn more about your company 59thirty. Maybe you could be interested in listening to my podcast interview with software entrepreneur, Brett Owens. We discuss the start-up phase, business planning, etc.

Thanks for the comment Shawn. I've been involved in enough distractions to recognize one from a mile away. Or so I think :)

What a great first post, Zack. Looks like a mighty interesting venture your involved in as well. Getting sucked away from the course who are trying to pursue is definitely a HUGE problem with entrepreneurship especially since sometimes the distraction comes in the form of much needed money especially near the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey where cash flow is always a problem. It's important to know the difference between those unexpected developments that could suggest new possibilities and new opportunities and those that serve only as a distraction.
