I thought he was just some asshole in a souped-up sportscar...

Little could I have known that this maniacal, reckless idiot of a driver would be fodder for a great lesson on Business success!

Yoni,

Any idea what happened to Susan Oakes?

Haven't seen a post from her in weeks. I checked her web site and its not updated?

Susan,

Welcome back. Your presence and your insight were certainly missed. I was beginning to worry about you. Looking forward to many of your wonderful articles in 2011!

Hi Shep and Yoni,

I am back after taking a couple of weeks off over Christmas. Hope you both are fine and I will have a new blog post up tonight.

Yoni the floods are terrible and have affected so many in Queensland which is a different state to the one I live in.

Cheers,

Susan

Shep,

I've been wondering too. There have been horrible floods in Australia. Hope she is okay. I too noticed no new posts. Perhaps I will email her today to make sure all is well.

Yonatan, I am glad for this article. I have read others lately saying how good it can be to fail in business. Maybe it is good as learning but when you are reckless and failed with others money and financing you are careless not good.

Peace/Shalom/Salaam

Hamed,

I've too seen those articles while perusing the world of Business blogs.

I believe it is okay to fail in Business. It happens all the time. It might happen to me one day. But when playing with other peoples money becomes gambling and taking wild, risky chances, that is going to far. Much of the situation we now find ourselves in is a direct result of irresponsibility! It is, as far as my metaphor, people driving too fast and not paying attention to the rules of sensibility!

Hi Yoni,

I've noticed there are a few small business bloggers who advocate starting multiple online businesses as if they were video games. You know the pitch - it only costs a few dollars to start, they've got dozens of businesses going at one time....then later an occasional admission that many of them aren't doing well & they're getting burnt-out trying to keep up. As Barney Miller ('75-'82) often said: Why not slow down, take a step back, and look at it in perspective?

Duncan,

Barney's advice is sound. Having a wide variety of business interests can be good. Trying a shitload of them and hoping that one or two will succeed is idiotic, especially if others are footing the bill for failure.

Maybe it was Bernie Madoff?

Ben,

I checked Reuters to see if he escaped. Apparently not :)
