Scott: Thanks for your input on this issue. I will continue to strive to achieve my values, including my love (amateur in French) for tea! It is a passion and hobby that will turn into a small business. The vehicles are my forthcoming first book on tea, being an independent distributor of tea products, and talking about productivity and tea on a podcast called Produktivitéet (in Swedish).

Martin: I've been thinking on this. No previous writings come to mind. I believe most of us struggle in this area because of erroneous beliefs and cultural programming. It seems like we attempt to rev our emotional engines (to feel passion) to propel us out of inertia, laziness, and procrastination. But all of these qualities generally stem from unrecognized fear. Plus, our true interests -- what speaks to our soul -- very often has nothing to do with entrepreneurship or making money. And so we needlessly suffer trying to bend our soul's desire to the will of the business. Sometimes it's best to make a clear division between the two.

Scott: I strive to achieve my values and living a good life, in a passionate way, but I am aware of the middle ground and center as balance in my worklife. I am fighting for a second Renaissance! ;) You have written a thoughtful piece that I will "chew" for some time.
