If I could go back three years and have a conversation with myself, as the person I was then, I’d have three important words I’d want to say. Those words are:
“Always be yourself.”
That’s because three years ago I was in a very different position. Three years ago it felt like my world was crashing down around me. I was a new parent to twins, my mother had suddenly passed away and I was in the grips of the worst cycle of depression I’d ever experienced.
What followed was three years of stumbling and searching. Three years of grappling with one question whose answer always seemed to allude me.
“Who am I?”
