must begin this article with the disclaimer that my wife is a BNI Chapter President, so whatever I say here might be tainted by that fact. However, I will readily admit that I myself am not a member right now and I received no remuneration or consideration for this article.

My wife’s BNI group had a Visitor’s Day last week. I attended, so I got to see into the inner-workings of her chapter. In fact, that’s what brought this article about. I was in a meeting with one of her chapter members and this person is the one that actually started the discussion about BNI vs. other networking groups. In the interest of privacy, lets just say that wild horses could not drag this person’s name out of me; however I will present their arguments for a paid networking group.

John Wheeler,

I have been a member of a BNI chapter in Gothenburg, Sweden, for circa six months, and I must say that I am in agreement with the way referral marketing is working. I have recently started to attend a course to become a "Certified Networker" (R), lead by the Referral Institute branch here in Sweden.

I do you think you should be a participants in different networking groups.

Have you read John Jantsch's Referral Engine book?
