Recently, it seems that we are reading about a new social media crisis happening to some well known brand at least every other week. On observation, it becomes obvious that these companies were un-prepared for what happened and that there was no internal social media crisis management plan, or strategy in place. What's really scary is all the small businesses out there who, because they aren't particularly involved in social media, somehow don't believe a social media crisis involving someone else talking about their brand can affect them. Since they aren't really even listening to what people are saying about them they are far too slow to respond.
