Sian: We could have a debate if these five examples are brilliant, or not! ;) I don't know about Electric Ireland, but I wonder if it is a private company or state owned electric entity as is the case in many countries.

I know about Volvo's activities... They are located in Gothenburg, Sweden. Right now they are in hard economical situation due to the Chinese take over and that they are not coming up to the sales figures they had forecasted.

Dell is struggling to come back to its core business. Have they sold more computers by its activities on Facebook?

I think that Mari Smith and Social Media Examiner have done a great job on using social media, but that is their specialty.

Social media examiner is something I keep up with too. I guess it's the mixture of right content and well, not too much self promotion. I definitely get turned off when a facebook page I follow always speak about themselves. I think it's an 80/20 share, not sure though.

One key message I get from this post - is the word SOCIAL (I know, such a cliché) but seems to be missed by many business pages - the examples you have provided are great examples to get tips from for our own biz pages - thanks Sian!!
