There has been lots written about social media becoming an addiction for people – and indeed there are plenty of guides, videos and tests that support this. But the same can be just as true for companies both large and small, where an addiction or over-obsession with social media becomes more and more apparent.

I couldn't’t agree more. Social Media is great, but the volume is so overwhelming I think one has to be very careful on picking and choosing where to engage. I love the example of the hair swish video contest. What I’m curious about is where do people find the time to do hair swish videos of themselves?

From a business owner perspective, social media is so seductive because of the free aspect, there are no gatekeepers like traditional media, and there is the immediacy. I think this makes it extremely hard to control ourselves :-) Personally I think the answer come from within, and one has to really connect with your own inner wisdom and vision regularly on how to move your business forward to align with your vision. I run playshops for entrepreneurs to use more creativity and intuition in their businesses, and we use collage, guided meditations and journalling as a way to stay grounded.

I’d be curious how others stay grounded and focused.
