Not sure if I agree with your points 1 and 2. Sure you can save some money by not hiring a lawyer and accountant, but it may come back to haunt you later on. Unless you are an expert in those areas it is best to leave those tasks to experts.

I would add few other ways to save money. Do not hire employees early on. Look for freelancers instead. Similarly do not rent or lease office space early on. You should look into sharing space or working from "garage".

I can't speak for the author, but I believe the initial setup of a business is a relatively simple process. A few great resources for early stages are the SBA, SBDC, and local Chambers of Commerce. Great point with hiring practices. Staying as lean as possible in the beginning is the best way to get going.
