Based on my experience advising entrepreneurs, I’m convinced that success is often more a mindset than a specific set of skills or intelligence. The mindset I’m looking for is one that sees challenges as exciting rather than threatening, setbacks as learning opportunities and that effort and perseverance will overcome any obstacle. The imperative of not trying to solve all your venture's problems in one day is particularly important, I think. What stops many entrepreneurs in their tracks, I think, is the perceived need to move forward with the perfect product, the perfect service, the perfect brand (whatever) immediately. Perfectionism can cause some entrepreneurs to quit too soon and others, sadly, to never even get started.
