As Steve Jobs said "The only way to do great work is to love it". But sometimes we need to forego our passions and stick to what we know best when we start our first small business venture, as I found out at some cost

I started a meeting place and coworking space with some friends on a passionate idea on how to create a third place between your home and your office. We didn't have the expertise of the traditional hospitality industry (coffee house). But we learned many things from this venture! ;) I have written a piece on my experience from falling forward, on AMEX's Open Forum.
