Halloween sales are the furthest thing from scary. The National Retail Federation (NRF) just issued its Halloween Consumer Spending Survey, revealing the average American will spend about $78 this Halloween, up nearly $3 from last year. The NRF says “more costumes than ever will be flying off the shelves” and predicts total Halloween spending will hit $7.4 billion this year.

Wowww! Didn't realize the spending dollars were this big. I knew that the costume stores were busy but this explains it.

Thanks for sharing. Starting to brainstorm for next year some "out of the box" ideas for taking advantage of this and other holidays that may be neglected.

It looks like there'll be more spent on adult costumes than kids' costumes this year. I can see pet costumes increasing even more next year. Just a feeling. (I looked into my crystal ball, you see :-) )
