The question is why are there few minority owned tech startups? As a Hispanic female this is something I've wondered about a lot. I've thought about all the usual reasons people say there is such a lack of minority owned startups, but none of these reasons made much sense to me. Then about a month ago, it finally dawned on me. The answer is simple - it's the culture.

I think it's risky to lump people together like this. It's a lesson from the 1960's - which I remember all too well. I try to look at everyone as an individual - then there's no room for culturally-based blame.

I am in no way advocating stereotypes. And I agree 100% with you that we as individuals are all different. I am Hispanic, and I also have an entrepreneurial mindset. But the fact remains that culture plays a big role in our lives, and shapes our beliefs. I don't see that as a bad thing. Nor am I suggesting that one culture is better than another.
I truly appreciate your feedback, and I hope this clears up my thought process a bit more. Let me know what you think.
And yes, you're correct, it is a risky post, because it challenges people's way of thinking :-)
