The 'smart' tag is being applied to an increasing number of products and services. But what does it really mean? The true meaning of word 'smart' is likely to be an electronic device or system that can be connected to the internet, used interactively, and is to some extent intelligent. However, not all devices and systems that are pre-fixed by 'smart' are necessarily more advanced or 'intelligent'. Some companies are using the term as a marketing jargon to encourage more purchases, where smart equals better.
