"Excellent article!! I can't believe how many business owners skip this step. Without a market there is no business and therefor no need for a plan! Another one I see all the time is the location feasibility study for brick and mortars. Many start-up retail businesses lease whatever they can afford without doing the research on the area, traffic patterns, etc. It makes me sad to see ill-placed new businesses pop-up in areas where they are doomed to failure.
