"Definitely a little leery of the terminology as it reminds me of all those scammy/spammy turnkey, lots of CAPITAL RED TEXT sites, but I believe it can be used in a good way; like the author says, you can offer a pretty good discount as thanks for people signing up for your newsletter, etc. Another page that I think is underused is the custom 404 page. Most sites have the standard 404 for when the page is not found, but you can make a custom one that gives extra information and contact info – I think it helps show you care about individual customers. "
