Take Yourself (And Your Company) For a Test Drive.
"Great post. It reminds me a lot of King Hussein of Jordan who if you Google "King Hussein Disguise Incognito" you will see has been known to dress up in disguises and wander around his kingdom to see what really goes on and to guage the puls of the nation and his people. You are 100% right that unnanounced visits and putting yourself in the place of the consumer are the only ways to get a real look and avoid the artificiality of pre-announced "surprise" visits. Thanks for a great read!"5 Ways to Improve Your Empathy and EQ in Sales
"Great Article! I particularly like the part about other peoples' realities. It is hugely important! Many people are inclined to challenge other peoples' reality and interpretation of events. To the other it can be seen, rightfully so, as a challenge, delegitimization and as an act of hostility. You are 100% right that only by understanding, empathizing and listening can we guage what others are experiencing and guage how and when to begin the business process. "I absolutely loved this FABULOUS article! I voted for this article the other day, but my internet service went down before I had a chance to post my comment. This was a fabulous article which put into perspective for me the fact that at times we can forget in the Jungle that the person on the opposite end is under just as much pressure, or more, than we are. This was a great article in terms of content and creativity. It really put into fantastic context what a crazy business worl we live in. Kudos! Yoni"Subscribe
Every Blog Post is an Opportunity to LOSE Followers
"Ryan, I agree 100%! As a professional writer first and a biz-blogger second, I find your points very sound. It's one of the reasons that I advise all writers and bloggers to wait, if necessary, until they have something of substance, interesting and/or educational to post. If the time is not right, it is better to wait. Readers can tell when a blogger is just posting something for the sake of posting; it is apparent in the errors and in the felling that the blogger did not put his/her heart into the posting. Many feel that a blog post must be written every day...this is often a recipe for disaster in that it forces the writer to post for the sake of posting."
