Many people, myself included, have become a bit adverse to signing up for e-mailing because of the sheer amount of stuff I'm going to have in my e-mail box. So I think relevance is crucial. I have to WANT your e-mails even though I'm going to ignore hundreds of other people who also want me to sign up and delete hundreds more that I signed up for but now don't want because they're filling up my e-mail. Your e-mail should be a treasure I look forward to every week. Otherwise not only might I not sign up, I may end up deleting it even if I do sign up because it's cramming up my in box, and I have started feeling it's not worth my time.

These tips are easy to follow and it's great to have both the online and offline examples. My favorite tip is to explain the relevance. I think if you create a strong tie in here, you'll increase your email list fast.
